Except for occasional posts on my blog, I am largely turning this site into my own music page. I keep my song compositions on this site. Invite me to become a contact and I'll think about letting you hear them. If you already are please proceed to the Music tab or click on to the tags 'compositions' or 'originals'. Otherwise have a nice stay and thanks for dropping by. This is the second song in the collection 'Clockwork Universe.' No, this isn't a love song, but rather, a song of gratitude to the one who makes it all better, especially when you are at your lowest.
Silence and Fear Music and Lyrics by Alexis Ian Dela Cruz
Someday You will find me Underneath the broken glass: Purple shooting stars Magic cannonballs Far beyond the eyes can see Lately I’ve been trying to breathe Upon each sight I have of you
Staring at your world in silence and fear What I always have wanted to feel Thank you for making my day Just once more A little less darker than before
Light at the end of the hallway Smiles like the glance of a sun ray Take me to where you are today
Frailty Is what runs over me Every time you turn to go In each time You paint the skies with Gold and gray I’m left with nothing else to say
Take me to where you are today
One way You will find me It’s all the best I’d hope would be But until that day comes A dream is all I have I’ll hear you call across the night

This is the first time (with me as a sentient being) that our clan is gathering for a reunion. I heard there were hundreds of us. My only concept of 'family' numbered less than 30. Now I'll get to see more than 200.

Singer, choir leader, and friend. Congratulations to Marie Julienne B. Ente for becoming the new SINAG editor-in-chief and to John Aldrich Telebrico for becoming associate editor.
Both are Socio majors. Go Socio! :)
Good luck next AY, we'll look forward to your thought-provoking publications.
SINAG kids, please extend them your usual support and cooperation. I did not catch this personally, somebody just told me that she saw me and heard my name being called at TV Patrol's footage of the UP Diliman General Commencement Exercises. So I had to check it out somewhere in the net and found a link. Also caught on the footage are Arianne Cerezo and Jamie Pring. "Itinuturing na natatangi ang batch na ito," said Gretchen Malalad of the UP Class of 2009, which produced the highest number of summa cum laude graduates in the history of the University of the Philippines. I just feel honored to belong to this class.Anyway, here's the link: http://www.pinoychannel.tv/watch/v-137653?title=TV%20PATROL%20LINGGO%200426%20-%202/3and you can see the footage from 4:55 to 7:16.Once again, congratulations to the first batch of graduates from the country's National University. Everybody's shouting and raving. But the declaration's just so good to hear. :)

So many unplanned photos. This was one occasion when you just point and click and it doesn't matter with whom or how we look. For all we know, these are among the last pictures of my batchmates that I can take.
And yes. Not a drop of rain that afternoon. Tumalab ang mga inalay na itlog.
Congratulations to the CSSP Class of 2009! Mabuhay ang Iskolar ng Bayan! |
Because I really am.
There's just so much to be thankful for, I am at a loss as to where to begin thanking Him.
Salamat po. I like this song by Death Cab for Cutie. It's so honest. Love of mine some day you will die But I'll be close behind I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white Just our hands clasped so tight Waiting for the hint of a spark If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark
In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black And I held my toungue as she told me "Son fear is the heart of love" So I never went back
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark
You and me have seen everything to see From Bangkok to Calgary And the soles of your shoes are all worn down The time for sleep is now It's nothing to cry about Cause we'll hold each other soon The blackest of rooms
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark Then I'll follow you into the dark

To Our Esteemed Publishers of SINAG:
We, the Editorial Board of SINAG, the official student publication of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), would like to express our sincerest apologies over the contents of the article on the interview of the candidates of Buklod-CSSP and Saligan sa CSSP which appeared in the SINAG Election Special issue released on Friday, 20 February 2009.
The said article apparently contained many technical errors which offended the sensibilities of some groups in the College. The errors were committed primarily because of lack of coordination among the editors who worked on the said article and because the Election Special was compiled very quickly in anticipation of the upcoming University and College Student Council Elections. We assume responsibility over the lapse in editorial coordination and thus the contents that appeared to be in bad taste to some sectors of the College.
The editors differed significantly in their editing styles and had worked under strict instructions from the Editor in Chief to keep each interview essay in the 150- to 200-word range due to space considerations. Thus, inevitably, many sections of the actual interviews of the candidates to the CSSP Student Council conducted in the SINAG Office had to be deleted, and only the highlights of the interviews were included in the printed version of SINAG as deemed fit by the editors who were practicing their editorial discretion over the original matter. The editors of the said article have done well in surmounting the challenge of making sense of an otherwise unorganized cacophony of words, grunts, and expressions present in most interviews. For everybody’s reference, the edited videos of the actual interviews can also be accessed through SINAG’s website, sinagcssp.multiply.com. We would also be very glad to present to you the original, uncut actual videos of the interviews. Please feel free to visit us in the SINAG Office.
The editors had worked under the same instructions, but failed to coordinate each other’s efforts. They had attempted to rectify their actions and reedit the entire article, only to find out that the article had already been laid out for publication in order to meet critical deadlines.
The Editorial Board firmly denies that the appearance of the said article in the SINAG Election Special is an underhanded tactic in support of a particular party in CSSP, nor had the Board, in any way whatsoever, been influenced by any partisan group in carrying out its mission of being the unbiased and neutral voice of the CSSP student body in a particularly partisan period such as the elections. For this, again, we apologize for appearing otherwise. The Board as well as the staff has always kept and observed proper ethical considerations in presswork. The errors in the said article in the latest issue of SINAG are purely of a technical nature.
Also, the Editorial Board had instructed Features Editor Michael T. Tiu, Jr. to inhibit from editing in the Election Special prior to the presswork period on account of his being Vice President for Internals of Buklod-CSSP. He was not placed on leave because as far as we are concerned, Mr. Tiu is and remains an active member of the SINAG Editorial Board and he even did presswork for the Election Special; he was just not allowed to exercise his powers as editor for that issue. His case differs greatly from that of News Editor Ian Richard B. Cortez who was immediately placed on leave upon his formal declaration of intent to run for CSSP Councilor before the SINAG General Assembly.
We never mean to besmirch the integrity, intellect and capacity of any group aspiring for positions in the CSSP Student Council. We sincerely apologize for exuding such an effect. It is wrong, and had not been in our best interest. But nor will we take hands down unbridled and unfounded accusations of partisanship and bias in the ranks of the longest-running college-based student publication in the University of the Philippines because your editors have worked very well and did their editorial beats in the best of their ability to serve you, our esteemed Publishers.
Thank you and more power.
